Archaeological evidence for spectacular goldwork, sophisticated textiles, or the long-distance transport of exotic materials in societies without kings or emperors provides proof of this point.
But how can complex technological systems be sustained in the absence of coercive political administrations? The REVERSEACTION team is trying to answer this question. We are employing archaeological science methods in collaboration with environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, management studies and crafts, to provide new perspectives on collective action.
